loveduck’s favourite finds

Lumira

These beautiful Australian-made candles capture the essence of travelling the world. With this range of fragrances, export yourself to somewhere you love around the world. They make a great gift for those that have it all or deserve it all. (We might just launch the room sprays in November, they are so gorgeous.)

eribé

Created and made in a family-owned business since 1986 in magical Scotland from prime Scottish wool, Eribé embraces the joy of amazing knitwear mixed with craftsmanship and eco-conscious living. We have the same clients buying new ones each season – a testament to love right there. Eribé has been with us for a few years now but never lets us down – it’s a magic tonic of a knit.

planet luxe

Plant Luxe is exactly that — luxe — a beautiful, natural washing product that is good for the world and your LoveDuck pieces. Planet Luxe smells amazing and add the little home spray and you will never turn back. This is luxury home care that actually works, smells incredible and enhances your life whilst helping the planet.

mini pali

Beautiful mini-mini and mini Pali baskets are individually hand woven in remote villages in Myanmar from new and reused pallet strapping. Maggie has worked with these true artisans, village families and Burmese communities whose weaving skills have been passed down for generations — always ensuring fair, safe and happy working conditions. We love this at LoveDuck.

Sara Lashay

We love this brand. Sara Lashey is a young jeweller who hand makes all her pieces in her studio in Germany. Her beautiful Instagram page shows how to layer jewellery to perfection. Her jewellery is all about intricate tradition and the use of modern colour (she is famous for her little elephant, which sells out, and also represents good luck). We love a layer (as you know) and this is jewellery layering at the pointy end of beautiful-yet-everyday wear.

Matta new york

Created over 10 years ago by Cristina Gitti, who sees beauty is all things, Matta New York is now worn by the most understated stylish women around the world. Fabrics are hand-block printed — hours and hours of work go into one dress — and the cotton gets better and better with every wash. We have proudly stocked Matta since opening 7 years ago. The shape, the prints, the feel makes you come back season.

guanabana handmade

These super special accessories designed in Madrid and hand made by artisans globally (sounds good already, don’t you think?) are a new addition to Loveduck and a match made in heaven. Baskets, slides and espadrilles are just a few of the amazing pieces we have sourced to add to our treasures from around the globe. This brand will take you into summer with all things unique.

Wayuu Mochila

Handmade with artisan skill by both the women and men of the Wayuu tribe of Colombia, these little throw-over-the-shoulder or cross-body bags are so easy to wear and add a touch of colour to any outfit. Soft, casual and wearable, each bag is a one-of-a-kind and has unique braided straps and drawstrings to close. But let’s not get too technical. The love is in the making and colours of these bags.

Fragonard Perfumer

Made in France since 1926, this very traditional brand has just the most enchanting soaps and gifts, including the soap with glass plate and candles. These products have the opulence of florals like jasmine, lily and honeysuckle, straight from the countryside of Grasse. Whilst we always look for  new and gorgeou, this traditional brand adds character and style, not to mention the long-lasting smell as you walk through the door of LoveDuck.

Q&A: Zana Elwood, founder Las Ninas Textiles

How long has Las Ninas Textiles been operating?

I’ve been operating since 1997 importing items I love from Central America. My aim has been to bring slow fashion to the modern world.

What inspired you to create your business?

From the 1970s when I was a child, I loved the floral dresses I use to see and I really wished for one – the ones with embroidery. And to be able to wear one, I just couldn’t wait to be able to afford one. But mostly I wanted to show how to live more lightly on the earth with these beautiful textiles. Joy is also what inspires me generally, along with travel .

What inspiring you at the moment?

What feels good at this moment is people are caring about the environment and the earth, which has always been my intention. I feel like I am part of a movement to help this earth with like-minded people to look up to and be part of this movement. I also strive to share the feeling of being transformed by the beauty of the clothes we wear. Las Ninas clothes do this – they make us feel beautiful while helping the indigenous people (mainly women) in their remote villages who are struggling to keep traditional clothing methods alive (also while helping them make a living).
